Student Assist Coverage

Study Interruption
If you are unable to continue your school semester due to serious medical or compassionate reasons, we will reimburse you the tuition fee paid in advance for the current semester.

Sponsor Protection
In the event of accidental death or permanent disablement of your sponsor, you will be reimbursed the remaining school fees up to the maximum limit shown in the Schedule of Benefits.

Accident Medical Expenses
if your are injured accidentally, we will reimburse you the actual cost of hospitalisation or outpatient treatment, incurred overseas within 90 days from the date of the accident, up to the maximum limit shown in the Schedule of Benefits.

Compassionate Visit (2-way)
• Visit by Family Member
If you are hospitalised for more than five (5) consecutive days, we will cover the cost of a round-trip economy class air ticket and accommodation expenses for an immediate family member to be at your bedside.

• Visit by Student
In the event of death or hospitalisation of your parent(s)/spouse/child(ren) for more than five (5) consecutive days, we will cover the cost of a round-trip economy class air ticket if you are required to return to your home country.

Personal Accident
Student Assist provides worldwide coverage against Accidental Death and Permanent Disablement whilst you are studying abroad, on vacation anywhere in the world or even when you are back in your home country.

Travel Guard 24hrs Emergency Assistance
A full range of 24-hour worldwide emergency & assistance services is available to you. Just place a reverse call charge to Travel Guard any time of the day, wherever you are,
to call on the following services:
• Emergency Medical Evacuation
• Repatriation of Remains
• Pre-trip Assistance Service
• General Assistance Service
• Medical Assistance Service
• Lost of Baggage Service
• Referral of Legal Service
• Emergency Ticket Service

Emergency Medical Evacuation
In the event that you suffer from injury or illness which necessitates your emergency medical evacuation, Student Assist will arrange for the evacuation and pay for the expenses incurred.

Repatriation of Remains
In the unfortunate event of your death during your stay overseas, Student Assist will arrange and pay for all reasonable covered expenses incurred in returning your remains to your home country.

Felonious Assault
You will be covered in the event that you suffer accidental death or disablement as a result of events such as robbery, felonious assault or any criminal act of violence directed at you. This benefit is payable in addition to the Accidental Death and Disablement cover.

Lost Luggage & Personal Effects
You will be covered for accidental loss to your checked-in-luggage wherever you travel. Coverage for hand-carried Laptop Computers is also included.

Personal Liability Abroad
You will be covered against liability to third parties or damage to their property caused by his/her negligence.

Medical Expenses for Accident and Sickness
(Optional for Long Term Plan and included for Short Term Plan)
In addition to the Core Benefits described above, you have the flexibility to include an optional medical plan that covers both outpatient and hospitalisation medical expenses for Sickness and Accident. Even Home Country medical expenses are covered.

Main Exclusions
As with all policies, there are exclusions. The main ones are highlighted below:
1. Acts of war, participation in illegal acts, professional and/or competitive sports, pregnancy or childbirth, suicide or self-inflicted injury, AIDS, mental and nervous disorders.

2. Any pre-existing conditions for which the Insured Person received medical treatment, diagnosis, consultation or prescribed drugs within one (1) year preceding the effective date of this policy or, a condition for which medical advice or treatment was recommended by a physican within one (1) year preceding the effective date of the cover.

3. Any loss due to your engagement in naval, military or airforce service or operations; acting as a crew member or an operator of any air carrier; testing of any kind of conveyance; engagement in any kind of labour work; engagement in offshore or mining or aerial photography; handling or explosives.

Important Notes
1. Eligible Persons – Any individual, between fifteen (15) and forty-five (45) years of age, who is enrolled and attending full-time, a registered education institution of higher learning, outside of his Home Country, and who has paid the appropriate premium for this Insurance.

2. The Insured Person can only be covered under one such policy for the same period.

Country Exclusion
American Home Assurance Company, Singapore Branch will not cover any loss, injury, damage or legal liability arising directly or indirectly from travel in, to, or through Afghanistan, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria.
